From Ubuntu 9.04 to Windows 7

I've been given a company laptop to use this Monday, though I just started to use it today.

It's a Dell Vostro 1400 series, Intel Centrino Duo, 1GB RAM, and 120GB of hard disk.

Originally the laptop is installed Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic. When I first received it, I'm determined to not to use it, or else format it to other OS, as long as its not Windows Vista.

Today, I bring along my downloaded Windows 7 Release Candidate, and format the laptop and install it with Windows 7. So, for me, its a switch from Ubuntu 9.04 to Windows 7. I'm using Windows 7 at home as well, so now it does added a little bit feelings of home, as I'm familiar and comfortable with Windows 7.

Just after I've installed it with Windows 7, I do have the feeling of "I want my Ubuntu back", as I'm used to work under Linux based environment. However, I managed to slowly adapt to the new environment. So now, I'm becoming Windows user, both at work or at home.

Microsoft allows me to use Windows 7 till next March. Started from next March onwards, my laptop might be shutting down for every 2 hours, its rumored as Windows scheduler for shut down job for those non genuine Windows copy.

By that time, I might switch back to Ubuntu 9.10, 10 seconds boot time, awaited!
