How to configure Thunderbird (POP3)
To configure Thunderbird to send and receive email using our servers using POP3, please follow the steps below (please replace username@example.com with your email address and example.com with your domain name):
1. Open Thunderbird.
2. Choose "Tools" -> "Account Settings".
3. Click on "Add Account...".
4. Choose "Email account".
Click on the "Next" button.
5. In the "Your Name" field you should enter the name you would like to appear on the messages you send.
Enter your e-mail address username@example.com in the "E-mail address" field.
Click on the "Next" button.
6. Set the type of the incoming server to "POP".
You should use pop.example.com for incoming mail server.
eg. ( pop.gmail.com , pop.pentrac.com )
Click on the "Next" button.
7. In the "Incoming User Name" field you need to enter username@example.com.
Click on the "Next" button.
8. In the "Account Name" field you need to fill in the name for your account in your mail program.
This name would show up in your own e-mail client. You can set a name such as "Work Account", "Sales mail", "John" etc.
Click on the "Next" button.
9. Click on "Finish".
10. Open the "Account Settings" menu and click on "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" -> "Edit".
11. Set the Port to XX and make sure that the "Use name and password" option is checked.
Server Name set to smtp.example.com (eg. smtp.gmail.com , smtp.pentrac.com )
Different server different port -> gmail port XX set to 995 , pentrac port xx set to 587
The username needs to match the username of your mailbox.
Click on "OK".
